github.com - "Primary password" prompt keeps being requested #104089

Problem type: Something else Description: repeated primary password prompt Steps to Reproduce: This happens only with Firefox (not tested on mobile).

  1. setup a primary password
  2. save credentials for github.com
  3. restart the browser and don't enter your primary password
  4. go to any repository's issues page on github.com, e.g. https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues but don't log in
  5. click on an issue from the list - you will be asked for your primary password, don't enter it
  6. navigate back to the issues list or to any other page like the pull requests list - you will be asked again
  7. repeat 5. and 6. - the prompt pops up always

In short, a modal dialog asking for the primary password will pop up anytime you enter or leave an issue page (e.g. https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/104085 or by clicking on the "Issues" or "Pull requests" tab).

Thanks for the report, I was able to reproduce the issue. image

Tested with: Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 102.0a1 (2022-05-12), Firefox Release 100.0 Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

This is not a Compatibility issues, but moving to Needsdiagnosis for further investigation.
