github.com - "Assets" sections don't load the list of files #111796

Open mnalis opened 1 year ago

mnalis commented 1 year ago

URL: https://github.com/Anuken/MindustryBuilds/releases

Browser / Version: Firefox Mobile 68.0 Operating System: Android 10 Tested Another Browser: Yes Firefox

Problem type: Site is not usable Description: Buttons or links not working Steps to Reproduce: when opening any Release page on GitHub, under "Assets" there is a triangle to expand/hide showing a link of assets. However, expanding it only shows forever-spinning circle animation insted of showing a list of files to dowload.

It used a work a year or so before. It still works in other mobile browsers like Firefox Klar. Disabling all plugins and restarting, refreshing page and fiddling with privacy settings does not help.

"requesting Desktop Site" doesn't help either, the bug is the same.

Thanks for the report, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue. For me the "Assests" list is expanded, displaying available files. image

Tested with: Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 107.0a1 (🦎 107.0a1-20221003094838), Firefox Release 105.1.0 (🦎 105.0-20220915150737) Operating System: Google Pixel 5 (Android 13) - 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~432 ppi density), Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android 9) - 1440 x 2960 pixels, 18.5:9 ratio (~570 ppi density)

@mnalis could you please update Firefox to latest version and also could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile, and check again? Also if there are any changes made to the default settings of the browser (e.g. in about:config) please revert to the default settings.

The browser is actually a privacy-friendly fork of Firefox on mobile phone. In about:icecat it identifies as IceCat 68.4.2esr F-droid IceCatMobile icecat-1. F-droid (where I installed it from some time ago) does not show me updates available for that app. Problem has been happening regularly for months at least.

I've tried disabling all addons (including ad blockers) as well as resetting settings to default. It does not seem to allow for creating new profiles (or at least I can't find it), and I'd rather not nuke my data as there does not seem to be a way to backup/restore them.

Thanks @mnalis fir the extra info. I was able to reproduce the issue on Icecat mobile. image

Tested with: Browser / Version: IceCat Mobile (UA: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 9; Mobile; rv:68.0) Gecko/68.0 Firefox/68.0) Operating System: Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android 9) - 1440 x 2960 pixels, 18.5:9 ratio (~570 ppi density)

Moving to Needsdiagnosis for further investigation.
