web.whatsapp.com - Broken Upgrade option, always redirected to web.whatsapp.com #123376

URL: https://web.whatsapp.com Browser/Version: Firefox 114.0 Operating System: Fedora Linux 38 XFCE SPIN What seems to be the trouble?(Required)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to: https://web.whatsapp.com
  2. Press Upgrade the app
  3. Loop always to whatsapp.com Expected Behavior:
  4. Upgrade normally like normal whatsapp web

Actual Behavior:

  1. loop to whatsapp.com, can't access web.whatsapp.com

We appreciate your report but I was not able to reproduce this issue. I was able to update without encountering any issues, the page was not stuck loading.

Tested on: • Browser / Version: Firefox Release 114 • Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Suggestions: • Clear cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile and check again • If there are any changes made to the default settings of the browser (e.g. in about:config), please revert to the default settings

How to create a new profile:

  1. Open a new tab
  2. Type in the address bar "about:profiles"
  3. Press "Enter"
  4. Click on "Create a New Profile"
  5. Click "Next"
  6. Name your profile
  7. Click "Next"
  8. Head to your newly created profile
  9. Click "Launch profile in new browser"

@sv-calin Seems they (whatsapp) fixed from their backend (just go to the page, and suddenly it doesn't redirect back again), it's working now, I don't do any clearing data or anything, seem yesterday it's really break on Firefox.

I also open ticket to Whatsapp Business Support, and mention about this bug. I will close this now, as It's working as it's.
