Thank you for reporting this issue, I was able to reproduce it. This usually happens when trying to check the routes and clicking on one of the airplanes. Sometimes it reproduces by clicking on the airplanes directly without any prior steps.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to http://flightradar24.com
  2. Dismiss cookie banner.
  3. Go to "Filters".
  4. Click on "Add new filters" and "Route".
  5. Add 2 airports (eg. JFK and CDG) and click "Continue".
  6. Click "Save" and name the filter however you want.
  7. Click on an airplane.
  8. Observe the behaviour.

For some reason the firefox profiler is stuck uploading and I'm unable to share the link, but there is high CPU usage when the issue occurs:

image

Tested on: • Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 121.0a1 (2023-11-12) / Firefox Release 119 / Chrome 119.0.6045.124 • Operating System: Windows 10

Notes:

  1. Reproducible on both Firefox Release and Nightly (ETP doesn't seem to affect this behaviour)
  2. Not reproducible on Chrome

Moving to Needsdiagnosis.
