www.reddit.com - Stuck in a Captcha verification process loop when attempting to post #133436

Problem type: Site is not usable Description: Buttons or links not working Steps to Reproduce: I have tried creating new posts on Reddit using Firefox Beta for Android and Brave Browser. In both browsers, I have tried using both the standard mobile version of the (new post) page and enabling the View Desktop Site options.

I have had issues with this off and on for many months now. In both browsers, using the mobile site, the Create Post page pops up (as an overlay on the website - no new page is loaded) but the option to change the community to which you would like to post to is completely broken. In Brave Browser I am able to type in the topic and contents fields, but any time I add a space while typing or add punctuation, most of my typing disappears. On Firefox Beta, I am able to type, but after pressing the "Post" button, a Captcha challenge pops up. I complete it and press the second "Post" button beneath the verified Captcha and nothing happens. Landing me in a Post, Captcha, Post, Post loop.

Only once was I ever able to actually create a post using a mobile web browser. I don't know why it's so messed up all the time. Replies in existing threads go through fine in Firefox Beta, but same typing issue in Brave Browser.

We appreciate your report. I was able to reproduce the issue by following the steps to reproduce, regarding being stuck in captcha verification when posting:

Browser / Version: Firefox Release 122.1.0 (2016001831-🦎122.0.1-20240205133611🦎)/ Firefox Nightly 124.0a1 (2016003551-🦎124.0a1-20240214094558🦎)/ Chrome Mobile Version 121.0.6167.164 Operating System: Google Pixel 3 (Android 12) -1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (~443 ppi density) Operating System: Oppo Find X5 (Android 13) - 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~402 ppi density)

Notes:

  1. Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP.
  2. Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release.
  3. Works as expected using Chrome.
  4. The option to change the community to which you would like to post is completely broken on other browsers as well, as the community can not be selected, unless you are posting directly into that community
