We appreciate your report but based on your description the issue reproduces on other browsers as well, therefore it is not a compatibility issue. Same behavior on Windows 10. Could you try on a clean profile on both Firefox and Chrome and give us an update?

For this project we try to focus our efforts on layouts and content that works as expected on a browser but not on the other.

You need to enable via the enable-jxl flag in Chrome 109 and enable via the image.jxl.enabled flag in about:config in FireFox Nightly and restart the browser to see this result.
