This is working for me on OSX Firefox Nightly 50.

Someone on windows has issues?

I can reproduce this with Windows 7 Pro on Firefox Nightly 50, Firefox 47 and IE9. The video DOES play in Chrome Version 51.

In the console I'm seeing:

HTTP "Content-Type" of "application/vnd.apple.mpegurl" is not supported. Load of media resource 
http://prepublish.f.qaotic.net/epa2/ngrp:americatvlive-100056_all/Playlist.m3u8 failed. live.php

Hmm, odd. @adamopenweb you're seeing that in Windows or OSX?

In DevEdition/OSX, I get the video just fine. Maybe video.js is selecting the wrong stream on Windows?

In the inital screenshot I see ABP add-on. It would be good to test with a clean profile without addon.

I'm saying that because the video feed starts with a video ad. And I wonder if the video is blocked then the rest is not playing.

The report was made with Firefox in safe mode.

I closed my Internet security software before the report.

I see a black screen in my Android cell phone also. Two diferent OS, settings, etc., same web browser.

With Adblock Plus disabled, the page loads normally. Perhaps you were on to something @karlcow in your statement "... video feed starts with a video ad...".

With the custom filter @@||imasdk.googleapis.com/js/sdkloader/* added to the Adblock Plus Filter Preferences, I am seeing the page load as expected.

Windows 10 I was seeing the issue. OSX works fine. The black screen can also be replicated by using Firefox tracking protection. With TP disabled, the ad usually plays for me but after it goes into a loop and keeps failing. I've reset my profile a couple times, tested three versions of FF and even tried a VPN to play from the U.S. This is happening under VMWare, though I doubt it's related.

Here is a snippet of the error log:

So it sounds like the HLS.js script is working on OSX and fails on Windows and Android?

If it's actually http://videojs.github.io/videojs-contrib-hls/, that would be surprising, perhaps an older version?

The video plays fine here in Nightly on Win8 - it creates a VIDEO element that per the inspector is

It creates that exact same VIDEO element in Firefox release (46), but the video does not play - it plays some "loading" animation that never goes away, with a black background. Perhaps there's some media source extensions-related bug that was fixed between 46 and 50?

One as of now unidentified bug in Gecko's MSE ("media source extensions") implementation that breaks playback in older versions including 46 and perhaps 47 but not 50 on Windows

One issue with safe mode/ad blocking that prevents playback also in Nightly (50 and up) on both desktop and Android. @brulecap https://github.com/brulecap found a workaround described in a comment here: #2742 (comment) https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/2742#issuecomment-224888113

@armentarius https://github.com/armentarius does that workaround work for you? Do you see video if you test in Nightly without tracking protection / ad blocking?

@armentarius do you get any alerts when you try to load it now?

(I think this is probably a tracking protection issue/bug -- there's some tracking script that the whole video playback relies on)

This site works just fine for everyone with tracking protection off and third-party cookies allowed, which is the default. It does indeed not work with tracking protection on or when using uBlock, but the entire videoplayer fails if it's not able to show the advertising, so this is not really a web compatibility bug, but rather the sites intended behavior.
