lichess.org on firefox referencing #30717 (of which was closed prematurly) by who? #30824

What seems to be the trouble?(Required)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to: (lichess.org)
  2. please review a game and try and mouse click on the controls

flawless operation

doesn work with mouse

look at #30701 and i dont appreciate this ticket being closed without explaination, and softvision-oana-arbuzov please email me and explain yourself a simple you dont want to investigate isnt enough

@Acerb8, could you please give specific steps on how you're getting to a broken state? I just visited lichess on my Windows 10 laptop, and both a mouse and the trackpad were working for me on the various interface elements to the right of the chessboard for reviewing previously-played matches (along with other things).

Thanks for the report, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue.

Tested with: Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 68.0a1 (2019-05-09) Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

@Acerb8 , could you please update to the latest Firefox version, and give it another try? Also could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile, and check again?

now i am not too bright i admit, but where is version 68, im sure that firefox updates my browser as it needs updating for how many years, and now you'll have me updat to browser that doesnt seem to be available?

oh okay, you'll have me put a beta version on my desktop, is that the solution, hold on, my issue solution will go to a few other people, of whom, merely switched to chrome for their lichess needs, am i to tell them that version 68, is the cure? where the firefox itself hasnt as of yet updated to 68? not to be insolent, but you could of said go to the beta vesion of firefox and download it, instead of surmising that i havent updated my browser, of which is on auto update

Hey @Acerb8 We usually test all the issues that come in on webcompat.com on Firefox Nightly. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/#nightly

This is because in Nightly it's where the magic happens, i.e. a lot of issues get fixed and features being developed.

Firefox Release - version 66 Firefox beta - version 67 Firefox Nightly - version 68

Anyway, returning to the initial issue. Playing the game at the URL you provided [https://lichess.org/AJPiEJDg/white] I can play chess, using the mouse, on Windows 10 on both Firefox 66 and Firefox 68.

I suspect you might have some add-ons that prevent you from using the website correctly.

Please try to see if it is reproducible, using a fresh profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

i can play a game as it is, but not navigate a game in analysis

Ok, so these are the steps I took:

  1. Navigate to https://lichess.org/AJPiEJDg/white
  2. Hover over the TOOLS button.
  3. Click on the "Analisys board" item
  4. Make some chess moves.
  5. Use the Left/Right/Up/Down arrows to navigate through the moves.

Have I missed something?

i started a new profile, named it "testing user" and went into [https://lichess.org/AJPiEJDg/white]

navigate with the navi icons on the lower left hand

I don't have navi icons on the left side, only on the right. Is this also the layout on your side?

thanx for your time and effort, i am pleased with nightly sorry but i meant to send this out hours ago, and so, i sent the url for nightly download, unfortunately it was the multiple downloads select language and processor config... page, and it daunted him. he would rather try and use chrome with sourceforge for streaming lichess content, then to download nightly, if you guys could do me a solid and please send him an email, understandably he has been streaming for a few years now ( using firefox with lichess, and sourceforge) on twitch platform, and lichess site update wonked his browser as well... William Paschall videochesstrainer@gmail.com could you send him a direct link to a once download and done please and express your interest in his successful streaming, for sunday we are having a 25 board simultaneous game, 25 against him today he used the firefox version 65.0.05 (was not joyful) and you have version 68 i have nightly and am happy to use it
