en.wikipedia.org - A warning message is not displayed #45613

Browser / Version: Firefox Preview Nightly 191129 (🦎: 72.0a1-20191126093448) Operating System: Huawei P10 (Android 9.0) - 1080 x 1920 pixels (~432 ppi pixel density) Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Site is not usable Description: Missing items

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Access https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&returnto=Main+Page
  2. Tap the "Log in" button.
  3. Observe.

Expected Behavior: A tooltip pointing to the "Enter the username" input field stating "Please fill out this field" must be displayed.

Actual Behavior: The tooltip is not displayed.

Notes:

  1. The issue is not reproducible on Chrome Mobile 78.0.3094.108
  2. Screenshots attached.

so with a simple test case of the markup this is working.

so something else is going on which suppress the message or change the behavior.

Removing entirely the CSS doesn't change anything to the behavior.

When we tab the login button it seems in the case of wikipedia that the name field is refocused automatically. I wonder if that remove the label. No. it doesn't in the case of the simple test case.

So something else.

I think we should move this to contactready so we contact people from wikipedia about it.
