Problem type: Video or audio doesn't play Description: I get a message that I should use a "standard browser, such as Chrome" Steps to Reproduce: I created a Zoom meeting and tried to join it from the browser

Thanks for the report @andreicristianpetcu , unfortunately when I try to host or join a meeting I'm redirected to the installed Zoom application both on Firefox and Chrome.. Even after uninstalling it, it prompts to download and use Zoom. I've used URL: mozilla.zoom.com and signed in with LDAP account.

@denschub can you reproduce the issue?

I can't, I also get redirected to the download. This is probably something that occurs on Linux only, but sadly, my Linux is not ready right now.

@softvision-oana-arbuzov could you try if you get the web-view on Linux? If not, I'll come back to this issue after the vacation :)

@denschub I did test on Linux 16.04. I've uninstalled Zoom app, but I did not get the web-view.

Thanks, I can reproduce this in MacOS. Video works fine but audio doesn't.

This is a known issue as Zoom requires Web Audio Worklets, we are working closely with them on this. Our Audio Worklets implementation is close to being finished and ready for testing.

Do you think it's possible to enable the usage of firefox for the zoom.us webclient with the highest possible priority? My university (some 60.000 students) failed hard rolling out their own webrtc based service, and now almost every lecture or reading depends on zoom

Right now it means to choose between installing google-chrome, the zoom.us client, or not able to attend classes.

Web Audio Worklets is the last feature Zoom's web client depends on for it to work with audio and video in Firefox. That feature is enabled by default in Firefox 76 Beta right now, and is becoming the 76 Release version on 5th of May. Zoom's web client has proper feature detection, so it just starts working. Once it works in Firefox Release Zoom is hopefully going to update the web page which recommends using only Chrome, but that is obviously not in our control.

So unfortunately at this point there isn't anything we can do to make things happen faster then 5th of May.

there are still some minor inconveniences, but that's not the topic here.
