I can't test it as there is a geolocation limit for this video. Screen Shot 2020-06-29 at 10 04 38

  1. This seems to be about YouTube Movies
  2. Both Oana and I can't test because I suspect you need to be in USA for accessing this specific instance.
  3. This probably requires to pay to get access to the movie.

Is the trailer working https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KYrggEA8rSg This is the local channel for Japan https://m.youtube.com/channel/UClgRkhTL3_hImCAmdLfDE4g

And if I access for example the ones with Preview only labels this is working https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ru63l8_HvNU

karlcow commented 4 years ago

I asked for help inside to see if anyone had YouTube movies account on Firefox Android.

liamengland1 commented 4 years ago

It's probably a DRM issue, as youtube movies use drm.

@karlcow you are right, you need to be in the USA to view the movie. The movie is free to watch.

Here's the debug info from the player on Firefox Windows if it helps. I don't have an android.

It would be good to try with the latest nightly. Someone just told me that it was working without issues after adjusting to the latest nightly.

karlcow commented 4 years ago

@softvision-oana-arbuzov Can you reproduce?

softvision-oana-arbuzov commented 4 years ago

@karlcow I can still reproduce it. image

Tested with: Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 201103 (🦎 84.0a1-20201101092255) Operating System: Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android 9) - 1440 x 2960 pixels, 18.5:9 ratio (~570 ppi density)

karlcow commented 4 years ago

Ah this one for @ksy36 I'm blocked from Japan.

denschub commented 4 years ago

These kinds of movies are DRM'ed, and YouTube is using Widevine for that. This video works fine for me with media.eme.enabled=true and media.eme.require-app-approval=false, which makes this a duplicate of https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/1175
