@InlineV Here in India I cannot see download link for Windows phone.
It is showing only App Store (for Apple devices) and Google Play Windows Store is not available.
https://instagram.com/ is not properly viewed in Windows Phone IE 11 Browser Can you please explain which install app link have you clicked? Instragram have Beta Version app on Windows Store. You can use that. Full Version app is not available for Windows Devices.
Please check attached screenshots of Windows 8.1 Phone (Lumia Denim Version)
Closing this issue as link for Windows Store App is not seen on instagram.com
Please reopen if you can see link for Windows Store App
@InlineV One more question does Windows 10 available for mobile phones?
The issue is not a result of clicking on a link to the Windows app store. When opening Instagram, the browser detection method incorrectly identifies IE 11 as an Android browser and prompts to install an app. The app link directs to Google Play. More than likely, this is a user agent string browser detection issue. The issue should be reopened.
As for the second question, Windows 10 for Phones is available as a tech preview. I am using it for testing and using it to respond to this inquiry.
Let's cc @TheWebJustWorks to see if they already have an issue tracking this problem.
I have also confirmed the same behavior on Windows 8.1 Update with IE11. See attached for screenshots.

thanks for reporting this.. we have included in our bug tracker and can help outreach to Instagram - we do have an Instagram app in the Windows Store, but as mentioned by @InlineV this is a browser detection issue - we are being treated as Chrome. Instagram's detection looks to be server side.
working on a contact for this and making sure IG is at least aware
This has been fixed. Using Win 10 Mobile, Instagram.com will navigate to MS store to download app.
URL: https://instagram.com/ Browser / Version: Internet Explorer 11 Operating System: Windows 10 for Phones Problem type: Looks like the website has a bug. Site owner: No
Steps to Reproduce 1) Navigate to: https://instagram.com/ 2) When prompted to install the app, select link 3) Site redirects to Google Play Store for download
Expected Behavior: App link installation links will use the correct platform store link Actual Behavior: App links use Google Play Store. Likely related to invalid user agent string.
