How can I make a report which does not end in “WorksForMe”?

karlcow commented 7 years ago

@gpl34 hello. So usually on webcompat.com we are interested by issues which are differences in between browsers usually because of choices of JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Sometimes there's a real issue with the browser (not the website) so we open a new issue on the bug reporting system of the browser. For example:

There are two interesting things in this bug report here.

The problem does not depend on the Web site visited.

So this is not a site issue, it means a good candidate for https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Same problem in Firefox beta and nightly.

Here it could mean two things:

I'm using Firefox Nightly 57.0a1 (2017-08-28) on an Android 4.4.4 mobile. I noticed you used a tablet device. and the link is not the direct link to the Web site but it's a proxied link through AMP. I still can't reproduce the issue.

I know how frustrating it is. It is happening to all of us. But without clear specifics on how to reproduce most of the time it's almost impossible to investigate the reason, and even less to fix it without knowing what is the cause.

It could be https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1300592 or https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1129194 found through https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=black%20boxes&list_id=13749485
