If I get it right, then google's concept is to inject metatags with some obscure technology and have them maintainable in a nice frontend offered by google. In a way, using the google tag manager might conflict with a lot of metaseo's features. Basically that means that if you want to go for google's tag manager you are not necessarily motivated to go for metaseo. Personally, I can't follow google's motivation for a tag manager in technical terms (especially in terms of performance) but I can follow google's motivation towards the bypassing of privacy protection.
Besides these side effects, I also want to state that the M in CMS stands for management. That said, the content management features should be offered by a CMS and not by a third party.
I'd rather like to see new tags integrated into metaseo. If you are interested in new tags, please let us know by opening new issues. We are also very open for code contributed by the community.
In addition to the Google Analytics code it whould be nice to support the google tag manager container with metaseo.
