If you are interested in integrating direct mail I perhaps could help. We just enabled all our sites from customers with direct_mail using a modified version of your newsletter template from TER. and dmail_email_subscribe, direct-mail, tt-address. - Using positionit we could even create a new subscribe Form and translate it into many languages easily.
I am currently working to get everything into one .t3d what could be integrated very easy and more or less instant setup.
