"API" Version #1

What do you think about some kind of an API which returns the json directly?

(oops, somehow I wasn't watching this repo so missed seeing this issue)

I'm not really sure what value this would be... WebFinger is incredibly simple for clients already. I'd rather not have people relying on any particular format or behavior at client.webfinger.net.
