Vector tile support possible? #121

Hello, I am not sure if this project is still under active developement? While playing around with the examples I was wondering if there is the possibility to use vector tiles as the base map data? However, that would mean converting the vector data into textures, which might be the reason why it has not been implemented. Any hints on that? Thanks!
