Jacob: "The small icons are for saving space. I would think people would learn what they are for, perhaps with the help of tooltip: http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#tooltips In case of drop-down, what else should be in it?"

Per the prototype, in the dropdown there should be "Open" by default and selected, then 2 items "10-4", and "Closed". See http://dispeak.com/asap3. There is an example of one FYI open, and one FYI closed. WHen someone clicks on "10-4", the request stays open (or closed), but his name adds up to the list of people who acknowledged the request.(https://github.com/webjay/asapp/issues/107)

Also, yes, I see how the icon saves space, but it is not clear enough, it needs to be more explicit. We have plenty of space laterally on that line, so we're not gaining anything. Tooltips don't work on mobile, either you tap or you don't. Make sure you use your phone to play with the UI every now and then, and get a feel.
