I don't think that's right. Rooms (e.g. W 2002, W2004...) and Groups (AV, Record, Mgt) are not related. One AV follower can operate in rooms 1,2,3,4, another AV follower can operate in rooms 3,4,5,6, A Record follower can operate in all these rooms, or fewer, or more. One person can be an AV and Record follower in whichever room he wants.
so as a user, I should only be able to select a group (what I have called types) if I have access to it?
I think we need a call so I fully understand this. I'm in California right now, but let me know when a call would suit you.

We can call it anything, but “Type” seems more a characteristic of a user. One User can “follow” one or more groups.
Yes: “as a user, I should only be able to select the groups if I have access to it, (as defined by the Admin)”
