Thanks for the report. I think native Photoshop is a work in progress, there was a recent upgrade that updated their libwebp snapshot, though I don't know if that's been released. Are you using similar settings between the two or just the defaults?
Using various compression settings 80% to 50%. Photoshop compression sometimes shifted colors enough that it was noticeable. I did not test a with a variety of different images.
Up until version 23.4, Photoshop had been using an outdated libwebp library (v0.6.0). This accounted for some significant differences in image compression and quality as compared with WebPShop (this included noticeable color shifts). Starting with Photoshop 23.4, released in mid June, the version of libwebp now included with Photoshop has been updated to v1.2.2. This should have fixed those image quality and color shift issues. Please let us know if you are still seeing differences when using versions of Photoshop later than v23.4.
That is great news. Thank you. I did some A-B testing with the image I had noticed the color shifting before. Same file size and colors now.

Duly noted. :-)
I have found that I get much better results in both file size and visual integrity using WebPShop vs native Photoshop WebP conversion. Maybe worth noting?
