Greetings everyone!

We are planning to start "VR experience of the month contest" at WebVR India. Need to plan, structure and decide contest rules for the same. Feel free to write your suggestions on themes, rules and duration of the contest. Let's get started!

In this contest, we will be looking for next level VR experiences created by you.. Few key points -

  1. We will focus on VR experiences created using A-Frame which are production ready (well finished and fine tuned).
  2. We will also mentoring developers to achieve above.
  3. The scenes will be finally reviewed by the Mozilla VR team and prizes will be awarded to those who have well finished products.
  4. Yours scenes will be featured on aframe.io/blog as well.

I will contact @ngokevin to help us in above.

Proposal

Rules:

  1. You may only submit a VR experience that you, yourself, have created.
  2. All experiences must be submitted before 25th of every month.
  3. All submissions will be reviewed by the Mozilla VR team.
  4. Winner will be notified in the first week of following month.
  5. Prize will be awarded only for a production ready VR experience before the next contest starts.

Structure:

  1. All experiences must be hosted on one's own server preferably Github pages.
  2. All the submissions will be tracked using a github issue.
  3. Participants will be required to submit the scene through a simple format that will be specified on the issue itself.
  4. Good to have 1-2 people sharing contest news across social media.
  5. Mentor participants using slack and telegram as primary communication channels.
  6. Featuring scenes across social media as well as on A-Frame blog.

Theme Ideas:

Education, Nature, Entertainment, Sports, Festivals, Science, Data Driven etc. Feel free to comment if you have some specific themes in mind.

P.S. Suggestions are welcome.
