Henry: I would be honored, but I really did not contribute much. Ethan was using this as training tool for us. So I don’t deserve authorship.
Thanks

(#1001)
Hi Everyone,
It is of great joy to inform you that we will soon be submitting the Data Retrieverhttp://www.data-retriever.org/ for publication at the Journal of Open Source Software (JOSS). JOSS is an academic journal designed to improve the quality of the software and utilizes a special software focused peer review process.
Following the lead of @ctbhttps://github.com/ctb's group we are inviting all contributors to become co-authors if they want to. We have listed the user names of all of the people who have contributed commits to the retriever and also a couple of individuals who have contributed substantively through issues and testing in a way not reflected in the commit log. If you are in this list and wish to be listed as an author please respond to this issue and include your affilation/address information and an ORCID if you have one. If you are not interested (or feel your contributions don't warrant authorship) you can either let us know or just ignore this thread. In ~2 weeks we will proceed with the author list based on who has responded to this issue. If you've contributed substantially and are not on this list - our apologies. Just remind us and we'll be happy to add you.
Thanking you,

Thanks @henrykironde and @ethanwhite!
I think I've contributed enough bug reports etc. to qualify, assuming the definition of authorship is intended to be pretty broad/generous. Here's my information.
authors:
- name: David J. Harris
orcid: 0000-0003-3332-9307
- name: University of Florida
Thanks Henry.
No current affiliation, please LMK if I can provide any other info.
(I think @gitter-badger will turn you down.)
Thanks @henrykironde @ethanwhite I would be honored by being listed as the co-author for the publication of Data Retriever at the Journal of Open Source Software

Breaking your software when I can is reward enough! Thanks.
Hi @henrykironde, thanks for the offer but I am declining authorship. I made 1 script that someone else had to fix, so I don't meet my personal authorship criteria!
Thanks @henrykironde https://github.com/henrykironde I would be glad to be listed as the co-author .

@henrykironde, thanks for the offer but I think I have not contributed enough for getting the authorship. I just fixed a single script so I guess I don't deserve this.
@henrykironde It would've been an honor. However, I did not contribute anything significant to the project.I decline to be listed an author.
Thanks @henrykironde. It will be an honor.
