The theory centers on prediction but some brains should focus on things that have to do with worldview, persistence, conservation. Overall it seems so promising that it seems a problem that it's not being applied more broadly.

Unclear if this is a problem. Here's what ChatGPT had to say:

The Thousand Brains Theory is a relatively new and complex concept that attempts to explain how the brain processes sensory information and creates representations of the world. While it has generated significant interest among researchers, its application to artificial intelligence (AI) is still in its early stages. Here are a few possible reasons why more AI in practice doesn't use the Thousand Brains Theory:

  1. Complexity: The Thousand Brains Theory is a highly complex concept that involves the interplay of multiple neural modules in the brain. While it holds promise for improving AI performance, it requires significant computational resources and sophisticated algorithms to implement.
  2. Lack of data: The Thousand Brains Theory is based on the processing of sensory information in the brain, which is difficult to replicate in AI systems. While AI can process large amounts of data, it is still limited by the quality and variety of the data that is available.
  3. Limited applicability: The Thousand Brains Theory is primarily focused on perception and sensory processing, which may have limited applications in some areas of AI. For example, in areas such as natural language processing or decision-making, other AI techniques may be more suitable.
  4. Lack of understanding: While the Thousand Brains Theory has generated significant interest among researchers, our understanding of how it works is still limited. Further research is needed to understand its full potential and to develop algorithms that can effectively implement it in AI systems.

Overall, while the Thousand Brains Theory holds promise for improving AI performance, it is still in its early stages of development and faces several challenges, including complexity, lack of data, limited applicability, and a lack of understanding. Nonetheless, as research in this area continues to develop, we may see more AI systems incorporating elements of the Thousand Brains Theory in the future.
