Professional sports change possibly due to monopoly protection #16

In another world, sports would be replaced by better ones, not tinkered with in ways that annoy fans. It's possible that monopoly status and entrenchment open the door to these tweaks.

One example is in the NHL where the two-line pass is allowed and delay-over-glass penalty added. While these speed up the game, there's no end to the kinds of changes that might be made which can corrupt an otherwise good enough game.
