Right Side Menu does not open correctly using Android menu/options button

Actions are:

1. press right hamburger menu -> menu slides out correctly
2. press hardware back button -> menu closes correctly
3. press hardware menu/options button -> blank menu opens from left

Seems to have same behaviour on a number of Android devices, so as far as I can 
tell is a generic device issue.

Using a left hand side hamburger menu with the exact same actions works 
correctly: http://servermule.webbtide.com/cn1_lhs.html

Attached screenshot shows the Constants used for the right-side menu app.

Any progress on this, or can you point me to where in the code this is likely 
checked and I can see if I can track down the problem.

Have just tried this with plugin version 1.0.84 and get exactly the same 
(incorrect) behaviour. Huawei U8666E-51, Android 4.0.3

First pic is screen as normal, second press hamburger menu, all good, third is 
press hardware option button gives blank menu opens from left.
