Hangs on "Upgrading New Version" occasionally

Tested on Revision 162.
There may be other ways to reproduce this, but this seems to work consistently. 
1) Uninstall MathDoku
2) Install earlier version (e.g. R157 from Downloads on this site)
3) Run MathDoku, New Game 4x4
4) Press Back (so it saves the game)
5) Install R162
6) Run MathDoku
7) After Upgrading dialog is briefly shown, close next dialog so that the grid 
is shown
8) Rotate device

-> "Upgrading new version" dialog appears again and hangs (see screenshot)

(This had already happened previously on another device, but I couldn't work 
out what had caused it on that occasion).

The same problem can be reproduced in a consistent way without installing an 
old revision first or whithout any current/save game available:
 1. Force to stop the app completly using the Android Application Manager or re-install the app.
 2. Select "Reset Preferences" in menu "Development Tools".
 3. The upgrade will succeed.
 4. Repeat step 2.
 5. The app will freeze.

The problem above is now solved by cleaning up the reference to the background 
process which executes the GameFileConversion. This also fixes the problem as 
originally described.

Tested with Revision 163 and unable to cause the app to hang.
