Subject:    MathDoku: launcher icon

The current launcher icon

    is blurry to begin with;
    is only prescaled for mdpi, forcing Android to scale it at runtime on most devices, making it extra blurry;
    doesn't fit in with the other launcher icons.

If you all like this replacement, I'll throw in an xxhdpi one as well (which
was uncommon seven months ago).

comment is that they show just a 2x2 grid in them, which might be too different
from the current 3x3 grid icon. Is it feasible to maintain that structure/cage
visibility in these icons?

sacrifice to make things look better?
> When switching to 2x2 we indeed lose a little familiarity. It is however
minor, and since the name stays the same there is no risk people would ever
think MathDoku is not the same app, MathDoku, anymore. Other than the small
loss of familiarity there were no cons we could see.
> When looking at pro's, this icon is a lot better readable on small (ldpi)
displays. On big hdpi+ displays and maybe even on mdpi (havent tested) it has a
readable, solvable puzzle as icon which is of course fun. Lastly the more fine
detail you add by using small numbers, the harder it becomes to make them look
sharp in their lower dpi versions. At some point something is simply too small
to make look sharp.
> Hopefully you'll see why Pimm thought, and I agree, an icon with less
detail is better. Especially with the added bonus of a real puzzle as icon. If
you still are convinced 3x3 would be better. Please get back to me so we can
make the best choice.
