google maps is not loades

More college's find out to have the same problem: online using of of WhereYouGo 
is not showing the map when we are using our wherigo. wifi, gps is on. A month 
ago no problems.
Newest version of WhereYouGo is installed.
Complete reset of smartphone is not the solution.

Seems to be the end of our playing with students. Programming still works. But 
no maps are showed. "unknown error, after loading map"

There is still no easy solution for offline maps - so online use was the best 
to get, but how can we continue?

My guess is that the google maps API key expired. Unfortunately, development of 
WhereYouGo is stalled, and the whole project is in a sort of limbo.
I might be able to make a development version work soon, but i'm not promising 
anything.
