We have artist as a relator term for David Shrigley. I wouldn't use publisher, as these are unpublished works. Publisher / publishing info will only be relevant to prints. so that needs to be clear somehow.
It is already established practice in Marc, in subfield e for contributors (100, 110, 700, 710)
The publisher/artist distinction was more a hypothetical (it wasn't clear now I've read it back!)
I completely misremembered this one - it should have been flagging the birth to death dates not being used. They are currently in the framework under creator but aren't used in practice.
This piece of advice in particular - right in saying we didn't follow for shrigley (1968-present) - should we have a note to omit for living creators?
v. Dates For personal names include dates if known. Where the birth and death dates are not known, include the full range of dates for the artworks you are aware of, as an approximate active date. Bell, Stuart, active 1966-68 For corporate names, dates are only applied to names in relation to meeting or conference dates.
Also that last line - what does that mean? If it was a corporate body that was defunct would you not add the founding and closure dates if known?
OK I think some of this is too library related. Corporate names dont generally have dates, and trying to accommodate potential for name changes and use authoritative sources makes for some confusion. I'll de-library-fy it
In practice didn't use for David Shrigley in Sierra.
Is this a wish list one rather than something to have in the framework if it can't be implemented in either Sierra or Calm records without significantly disturbing existing name authorities? Also doesn't have much utility if say David Shrigley as artist can't also be linked to records where he is listed as a publisher.
