We haven't mentioned this. We can identify / create a suitable relator term. But it could also need an explanatory note. Should add it in the creator element

Ah of course! Agree that it would need an explanatory note so:

Creator Bloggs, Joe, engraver Creator Bloggs, Jill, painter

Note/Description: Kitten playing with string by Joe Bloggs after a painting by Jill Bloggs

Alternatively we could be more specific and say 'in the style of' when inspired by another artist or work and 'a copy of' when it is a direct copy of the work but using a different technique.

yes, I think I've covered it - take a look. I think notes re simplest way to go. When it comes to the MARC guidelines it looks like there is an option to include 'after' 'follower of' etc. a bit like the relator terms are used.
