Back to Next as waiting for meeting next Thursday with a dotOrg team who's already integrated it
Next steps:
Test brief to be filled in by team: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ikg-12FfuvE7ph2p2IGaMBVPmaGfpHN12FyG-ceFOLs/edit?usp=sharing
I propose using the top ten articles (GA4 12 Apr-12 July 2023):
Initial thoughts on where to place the player, I'd recommend at the top of the article underneath the featured image. If people want to listen to it, they'll want to be able to press play as soon as possible (example of how Wellcome do it: https://wellcome.org/news/lived-experience-helping-drive-innovation-mental-health-data)
Thanks both!
Great stuff @jennpb ! How would we like to fill the brief, a quick session (a lot of things say "team agrees")? I've created two draft tickets in the Next column, but the tracking one will definitely depends on the brief.
Team to work on test brief together early next week
At our request, we were sent some tracking results from DotOrg colleagues (Chris Reid, Dipak Shrestha and Stuart Wilkes) :
Good chatting to you all last week about audio. We have an analytics dashboard set up for the news article pages – to date audio has only been added to this page type – and I’ve included details below for how to access this. I believe it requires you to have a Wellcome Google account. Let me know if you’re having problems accessing it. 1) Go to https://lookerstudio.google.com/u/0/reporting/6bdf8cd9-0e80-4065-9386-d652869b6ed6/page/p_mjwfa3z76c 2) To enable the audio metrics hover over the table and click on the icon highlighted in green 3) Check the boxes for AudioPlayClick and AudioPlaybackEnded
Explore something similar to what Wellcome has done where the text of a page is read in an audio player. https://wellcome.org/news/what-link-between-climate-change-and-infectious-disease
They've apparently used Amazon Polly
Try it out at first in articles.
