Consider implementing 'User-ID' to make GA data more accurate #574

Summary

We need a decision on whether to turn on the 'User-ID' data collection feature in GA. Without this turned out, GA does not consistently track unique users across devices and sessions. As no. of users is an important metric we need to track I think we need to turn on this feature. But it requires some extra lines in the tracking code and for the privacy policy to be updated.

More on this here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3123662?hl=en&utm_id=ad

Motivation

Without this turned on, we need to be aware that our GA is not accurate for user numbers.

Proposal

Looking for Dawn to review this and decide. Below is a screenshot of where to find the T&Cs. And then Sam to implement the tracking code if approved by dawn.

Having spoken to Emanuela I realise that this is only implementable if we have a log-in system, which we don't. So this issue is no longer relevant. Am closing
