Andreas, as discussed separately, we have a club of users who still like to work with lists of their favourite waypoints and create routes from these. The route / waypoint display option in AvNav seems very basic at the moment, showing only the points and a line, without waypoint names. It's hard to select them as waypoints when building a route in the route editor. Of course they could be instead loaded as a route in the route editor, and then the route edited down to just the waypoints needed, but that could be tedious, or confusing for them ...or at least require route naming conventions that skippers sharing the boat are unlikely to follow. :-)
Following your own suggestion I propose:
improve the route overlay display to also show the waypoint names
add an option to show the route (or just the points) when adding a route as overlay
add an option to the item dialog when you click on an overlay item (route point, track point) while being in the route editor: AddToRoute - just adding the clicked point to the current route.
I think our skippers would find such a route/waypoint set easy to pick from chart overlays for frequent ports / voyages in our waters.
