cp couchdb.tmpfiles.conf ~root/rpmbuild/SOURCES/

Is missing for install howto.

And when it runs the tests it fails:

Thanks for letting me know, I'll update the install instructions.

As for the tests, did you try an re-run them?

What is your specific distribution and version? I'm curious, as I've not seen this test fail on any of my machines. I'm assuming a recent version of Fedora since couchdb.tmpfiles.conf was required.

I used the latest tar.gz from the couchdb home page.

I removed the make test part and went ahead and installed it, I got bitten by fedora updating erlang but not the couchdb rpm so I had no couchdb anyways. It seems to run ok despite the failed tests. The service script does not work but I have not yet had a look at was is wrong.

I'm getting this issue on RHEL6. I can't identify how to remove the make test, and i'm seeting any updates in the instructions to address skipping it.

In couchdb.spec comment out:

%check

make check || exit 1
