When I am hiking or riding my bike I am often tracking both with open GPS
tracker and with my tracks. Usually, the distances elevation obtained with my
tracks are bigger, but I had the impression that open GPS tracker is more
accurate (i. e. that my tracks overestimates distances).
But now I have observed something strange with open GPS tracker:
The track was for 5h 30 min (the same for both open gps tracker and my tracks),
average speed was 2.4 km/h (2.41 for open gps tracker and 2.39 for my tracks)
and the total distance was 10.2 km for open gps tracker and 13.15 km for my
tracks. Strangely, if you calculate 5h 30 min times 2.4 km/h you receive much
more than the 10.2 km that open gps tracker gives as the distance.... How is
this possible?
