Since https://github.com/splitbrain/dokuwiki/pull/387 is merged, the development version of DokuWiki will add thead to tables.

There this plugin adds <thead>-tags as well, it can be useful to check if both works fine together.

Whoa - I overlooked this issue for nearly 2 years! Sorry, Klap-in, I will look into it as soon as I am at home again.
