We currently have a qualified value to store the number of citations an author and/or project has each year (author 'a' obtained 15 citations in 2014, 8 in 2015...). With this information we can already fetch the TOTAL number of citations at a given point in time using a sum in the SPARQL query.
However, we need to think and discuss whether it could be better to store this total number as an additional field for each researcher/publication.
