Latest OS update functions #1

I have the latest OS for the RC-505 but it doesn't appear to be in the Assignment options. For example assigning input track effect a, b or c.

I have preliminary support for the new OS features, but haven't released them yet. My main concern is that I don't want to support both versions. But I think it makes sense to just use the newer OS version and have people update their RC505 before using the software. Anyway, I'm a bit short on time, but I can see if I get a release done in the next few days.

Out of curiosity, what operating system are you using?

I'm using the latest from roland. And I agree that you should only support the latest firmware, but keep the archived version alive too.

Do you have any idea when you will release the update Simon?

Just realised that when I use it all my assignment settings get reset upon saving which I'm guessing is because the do not exist in the old OS.

Hi Simon,

How you doing? hope time is a bit more on your side. Hey I use your software all the time now, it's just so efficient and a must have for this machine. However, I'm still struggling using the older version, there's a bunch of really useful functions added in the new version that would be great to use with your software. It works to a point already but upon saving I get strange errors.

Are you close to releasing your software to support the latest RC-505 firmware?

Sorry for being so unresponsive, still quite busy with live and other projects. The code in the repo actually has support for the new firmware version, just not very well tested. I have some time available in the coming days and other people asking for a new release so I will try to sit down and do a release soon. It is not on top of the priority list though, as I'm not really using the software myself at the moment :/

What's your main use-case? Loading external loops to the RC505 or anything else in particular? Just curious.

Loading loops on and off but also configuring the rc505 as a sound design tool.

But I have a fairly unique set up. My nord drum triggers the rc505 externally so the tracks are used to layer drum sounds to blend with the nord drum

version 0.0.3 works with firmware version 2.0

That means you are running macOS Mojave? I didn't test with that, I'm never on the newest OS release :)

What OS did you test up till? Did Mojave have a big update under the hood?

I guess some things must have changed. I tested both on 10.12 (Sierra) and 10.13 (High Sierra). Well, now that I have dug it out I think I will try to get a good version out. I'm a bit surprised it doesn't work. I'll try to setup a virtual machine running Mojave and try to get it running.

Just to make sure, you did open "Security & Privacy" after launching to allow running the application? That step is necessary because the application is not signed by Apple and thus not "trustworthy". So this manual step of allowing it to run is unfortunately necessary.
