Ok guys. Here's the plan for the homepage. You guys can style everything, but here's what the main layout should be:

-The main section will be split in 2 vertically. features of Bitcloud on the left and possible apps built on top of Bitcloud on the right. -We will put the Keiser Report interview below that main section. -We will then put links to our other media mentions below that.

Links to other pages on the top main menu should be: Home, About, Blog, Wiki, Forum, FAQ, Contact

I will post the features and possible apps for Bitcloud here later today.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you about several things. It's fine to include all of the content but your design ideas I disagree with. We have made a great parallax scrolling system with 5 different sections. We can make that more or less but these five sections are already in existence. I think having so much stuff on the front page is not a good idea. We can put the video and a welcome image there and it will look good. "Home, About, Blog, Wiki, Forum, FAQ, Contact" can go across the top menu bar. Also, has the interview been done? Where is the video? We can put buttons to other media mentions at the bottom of the page.

What are your thoughts on putting the features/apps split on about page?

Depends on how much information we want to include there/how much space it will take up. If we want to say a lot about the apps I'd suggest creating a separate Features page.

kyletorpey commented 10 years ago

It would basically be icons with bullet points next to each feature/app.

OK, well why don't you get the content figured out and we can determine the organization later.

OzairP commented 10 years ago

We've already made a parallax, so we should just have a run down on the features of Bitcloud with a nav on top. On Feb 28, 2014 11:52 AM, "kyletorpey" notifications@github.com wrote:

Ya, thats what Im saying.

kyletorpey commented 10 years ago

K. Perhaps features are the 2nd fold down. Apps 3rd. Finishing up the details for those right now with Javier. Will send shortly.

Here's a rough draft. Changes will probably need to be made, but we can start with this for now. I can get the bulk of the FAQ done tomorrow. Here is an example of what we think would be good: https://leastauthority.com/

In the features section on the homepage they have icons next to each feature, so that would probably be good for what we're trying to do. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

---FEATURES--- -No More Blockchains - Bitcloud replaces the blockchain with a distributed database that can be used for decentralized systems of trust. This allows for more dynamic and flexible decentralized applications. -Trustless Security - You no longer need to trust a centralized company, such as Google, Apple, Dropbox, Facebook, or anyone else with your data. Parts of data are encrypted and then broken up in many different parts. These separate pieces are stored in many different storage nodes around the world. -Easy Development for Decentralized Applications - Any language (Java, Python, etc.) can be used to build decentralized applications with the generic API for Bitcloud's distributed SQL database system. -Reliable Storage - Unlike other decentralized solutions, storage nodes are paid for their work in Bitcloud. This means data storage is reliable. Any node can sell their storage services at their preferred rate. -Free Software - Bitcloud is not a company. The protocol is free to use for anyone, even for commercial purposes. -NSA Resistance - There is no company for the NSA to go to with a subpoena. Users and storage nodes can be anonymous.

---APPS--- -Cryptocurrency - Instant confirmations. Transaction histories can be deleted for better privacy. -Exchanges - Instant trading in a completely decentralized manner with no fees. -Media Platforms - Decentralized versions of YouTube, Soundcloud, and eBook stores with more revenue for content creators and no censorship. -Social Networks - Interact with your friends on social networks where your data is not mined for advertisers and your posts are not censored by any central authority. -Messaging - Voice, text, and video messaging that is encrypted from end-to-end. -Private Cloud Storage - This is an inherent feature of Bitcloud. No extra layers are needed.

Hello all,

I apologize for not being able to reply for the past couple of days, I have had a family emergency and really couldn't reply. I am taking the time now to try to catch up with the emails, and get updated on all the new thoughts. I apologize that I didn't inform everybody my absence, but the problem seems to have passed, and I will now resume progress like before :). I am very happy to see that everybody is doing their part, and most of the tasks I assigned you are done.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience,

Victor Kim

I think that bitcloud should also integrate other crypto-currencies as well. I was talking with kyle about the fundraising a couple weeks ago, and we came up with the idea of accepting other crypto-currencies for donations as a sort of race. The currency who raised the most will have their currency as the first currency available, and the others will come in at a later time. I know that dogecoin will raise a LOT of money because they especially like fundraisers that accept them.

  • Bitcloud measures Quality of Service and provides a contract system that individuals can trust.

Integrating with any cryptocurrency should be trivial AFAIK.

Yes, of course good idea. I said Bitcoin just as a matter of reference, but please change Bitcoin with "any imaginable cryptocurrency, the first one will be Bitcoin".

Nice ideas, with the content provided I think now we can advance :) And @victorkim360 , happy with your regress, hope you're good with your family. Welcome, again =D

cbbcbail commented 10 years ago

Yes, Paladini, please help with adding the content and fixing up the main page.

Sure, I'm already on the chat, about 2 hours from now I will help.

SbSpider commented 10 years ago

So, what are the thoughts on parallax vs. non-parallax systems now?

P4V4 commented 10 years ago

In my opinion parallax is not a good idea at all. From my viewpoint it seems like we are just trying to throw some shiny effects into the page.

If we go on with the page as it is now we should get a quite cool product.

SbSpider commented 10 years ago

I agree on ditching parallax - it could have been nice, but I don't think it suits for this website. It is going to be a little glitchy, and doesn't add a whole lot
