New Team catalogue - Cepheids #566

To add to my previous emails about the other sources, two new tables of classical Cepheids will reach you shortly.

You will receive a table for the SMC, including a few tiles in the Bridge, and one for the LMC, which you can probably merge as they will have the same format.

These tables refer to the work published in Ripepi et al. 2017 and Ripepi et al. 2022 and contain the parameters derived from the analysis of the multiple VMC observations. They replace the previous table of Cepheids that we released with DR4 and hence the old tables should not be linked to DR7.

The format of the new tables for classical Cepheids has the following columns.

ID (for most of the sources this will be an OGLE ID, but for some sources it can be a Gaia DR2 ID or and HD number) Ra Dec V magnitude Mode Period Y magnitude, sigma in Y, amplitude in Y (Same values for J) (Same values for Ks) E(B-V)

Then, there are tables for Type II Cepheids and for Anomalous Cepheids.

For type II Cepheids you have already received the material from Teresa and only her table 3 is to be associated to the VMC DR7. The epoch photometry can be retrieved from the general VMC data e/o from the paper and CDS.

The table for type II Cepheids has a different format from that of classical Cepheids.

Finally, there are the Anomalous Cepheids for which the table is going to have exactly the same format as that of type II Cepheids. The table for Anomalous Cepheids is going to be provide to you also by Teresa very soon because it is already produced and she is in the process of writing up the paper.

I hope I did not forget any aspect, but feel free to ask me e/o Vincenzo if some is unclear; Teresa is also in cc.

Looking again at the differences between the tables containing information for classical Cepheids, type II and anomalous Cepheids, I suggest to use the same format.

This implies removing from the tables of type II and anomalous Cepheids the following columns: f_Y, f_J, f_Ks, f_E(V-I) and Source. The content of these columns is directly related to the specific study of the paper and it is the content of the other columns that is best included in the DR7.

I hope Vincenzo and Teresa also agree.
