I write you because I am going through all the VMC papers to see which
tables would be best to include with DR7.
I concluded that having one table with the VMC parameters and the
spectroscopic ones for the confirmed quasars would be a valuable addition.
Such a table would contain about 300 sources as follows.
117 known quasars from Cioni et al. 2013 (table 2)
37 confirmed quasars from Ivanov et al. 2016 (table 1 and table 2 merged)
136 confirmed quasars from Ivanov et al. 2023 (table 1 and table 4 merged)
6 confirmed quasars from Maitra et al. 2019 (table A.1 and A.3 merged)
The format of a single table would be:
Name, Ra, Dec, Y, sigma_Y, J, sigma_J, Ks, sigma_Ks, class, spectral
features with wavelengths, redshift+error.
This information is available already in the publications, but in
separate tables. Only for the 6 quasars the paper gives VMC colours, but
not magnitudes (as these are very few objects, it should be easy to find
those from the VSA).
I addressed this email to Valentin because Chandreyee is on leave and
Nick is in cc such that he knows that there will be a table for
confirmed quasars.
Would you have time to prepare a combined table for Nick? Best would be
next week, but if you need more time let me know!
