To answer your question, this is probably not correct. I don't have a version of the catalogue though.
There is even a source without K-band that is variable in the K-band!
As I cannot check independently, we have two options. The obvious one is we remove these sources. The other is to try to get the magnitudes from the database and check what the light curves look like. Nick as you are the VSA wizard, would you be able to query the database to get the lightcurves? It is likely that just by looking at them we can see if the var band is wrong.
