Need to upstream these functions #1

These functions have to be upstreamed in this repository.

That way, package relying on this lib can be moved to the official chocolatey core extension repository. Up to now, cloning this repository as a dependency is unsupported by the AU chocolatey module nor by the update checker CI machine.
