Students interacting with each other; this should be a team
The students weren't looking at each other when they pitched. I think they aren't necessarily friends. We have to build the team up as well and think of ways that they can engage. I had virtually no interaction with freshmen when I was a senior so this is not surprising. It would be a great output to have them be friends with each other at the end and also to not be competitive. This is a huge thing to me. The thing I hated the absolute most about Andover was this zero sum game nonsense that plays out there. It stems from college acceptance and bleeds into everything else. Anyway we can knock that out - make everyone super appreciative of the ups and downs of each other's projects would be great. Ways in which they can mentor each other in a fair environment would be fantastic. They can support each other in great ways - but we will need to make sure that it's done in the right manner.
