New "Pirate Cruiser" games crashing immediately

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start a new game
2. Select "Pirate Cruiser"
3. Move a few tiles in space

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to be able to play the game as normal as a pirate. Instead, the game 
consistantly crashes after 2-5 tile movements.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.4

Please provide any additional information below.
This only seems to be a problem with a new "Pirate Cruiser" game. I havn't 
gotten the chance to see if the problem stemmed from being a Cruiser class 
ship, instead of being a pirate or being a Pirate Cruiser in particular.

I am having this issue aswell on windows Vista OS.

after a period of turns time or planets visited the game also crashes a turn 
after lifting off a planet with Any ship from the first tier.
