What steps will reproduce the problem?

Well you would have to find a world with plants that starts snowing after
you start collecting biodata, difficult unless you stack the deck!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I was on a planet getting biodata from plants when it started to snow and I
then noticed that I was not getting any more biodata (auto or manual) from
uninspected plants. I don't know if it was due to the snow starting but the
timing is very suggestive!

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

yap. that is what happens.
Snow overwrites the plant tiles, and if you destroy the snow, you destroy the 
plants
as well. Kinda sorta even makes sense, and is intentional. Snow is not a friend 
:)
