Neodog Robot Security Crash Bug

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Complete "Find Ancient Robot Factory" quest.
2. Hire "Robots" at the space station (also called NeoDogs)
3. If any creature attacks your away team the game crashes.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.8C

Please provide any additional information below.
You may also want to fix the "stranded ship that opened up a casino"
exploit, in which you can keep visiting and using it to make infinite
money. You are rarely attacked and can land your ship next to the casino to
run away immediately.
