Sharpening Stone Mechanics #55

Back in TBC we found sharpening stones to behave much more favourably than expected, summarized in this video.

Two factors which were exciting past the expected reading of the tooltip:

Is this true in Hardcore?

A quick test on 9/14, game ver 1.14.4.51311 found that a Dense Sharpening Stone on the off hand contributed no damage to main hand weapon attacks.

A character with 201 ap, using a Claw of the Shadowmancer with a +2 weapon damage enchant, auto attacked 80 times with a Dense Sharpening Stone on the off hand, no temp enchant on the main hand. You would expect a damage range of (201/14*1.9) + 2 + weapon damage roll, for a range of 57.5 -> 81.5. With +6 added in there, 63.5 -> 87.5.

I saw a range of attacks from 57 -> 80, with 19 attacks below 62 damage, disproving the theory that a Dense Sharpening Stone on the off hand contributes 6 weapon damage to the main hand. 57 -> 80 also fits exactly with our expected 57.5 -> 81.5 if we round down.

I looked at rawAmount figures here from the combat log, so this is before all armor or crit related calculations.
