Kicking of the overhaul for #53 with a lot of copypasta from react-access which I think turned out quite nice so far. I think before merging this we'd need to:
[x] update the docs, including more examples
[x] assess a replacement for <Text/>, or perhaps super docs about how to easily build your own using withLocalization
[ ] ensure all the previous tests / any new ones are covered & passing
