How to connect whid to app? #10

I feel like a complete idiot asking this, especially here, but how do you connect the device to the app? I usually connect to an external network, but it wasn't showing up. I could connect to the page in the browser, but the app did nothing. Is there a button to connect I'm missing? I switched it to AP mode and connected it to that, as well as resetting the IP address. What am I missing?

Hi friend,

No worries, there's no silly question. What you'd need to do to control your WHID gadget is:

  1. Connect to the Wi-Fi network with your Android device
  2. Launch the WHID Application
  3. In the menu: you have a disabled toggle (blue = OK, you're connected, red = NOK, you're not connected)
  4. If blue, you can start interacting with your gadget
  5. If not, go in the settings and change the IP address of your WHID gadget.

Is that clearer?

Hi!

I'm connected to the Wifi Exploit from my Android. I open the app WHID Injector v0.0.4, and I see that the status is red in WHID Connection.

I open an Android browser and access the ip 192.168.1.1 that is set in the settings, and from the browser I access the Esploit website v2.7.41

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi,

Can you send us some screenshots of the app running on your phone? If the status is red, it means that the app can't connect to the ESploit web application.

What is your phone? And feel free to give us screenshots of:

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for reply,

My phone is a samsung s8, and via browser I can access the 192.168.1.1, in the app is configured with the same ip. Can it be that my default browser is not chrome?

I don't understand why if via browser it works, the status remains in red in the app.

Make sure you only have Wi-Fi enabled on the phone because if you have Data (3G/4G), traffic might not be resolved as it should.

I'm out of mobile data, just connected to the wifi Exploit.

I'll try another phone...

Thank you for your support

I don't know why that is, but with another model of phone it works fine.

Hi, great!

This might be an issue with WebView itself (used to render the app). Without going too much in details, ionic apps (such as the WHID app) are HTML/JS apps which are embedded in webviews. If you have the chance, could you update your Android System Webview (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-system-webview/) and check if it works better?

It's good news anyway, I will close the issue in this case and thanks a lot for the troubleshooting!

I have this versión on Samsung S8 (android 9):
Android System WebView 81.0.4044.111
